Why Basing Your Decisions on “What (insert name here) will think?”, May Not Be a Good Idea

I’ve been embarking on a journey to transform my life.  To really become a person that takes care of their life and business without the first thought being “What will (insert name here) think?” or “What if it doesn’t work out?”  I have recognized that these thoughts and questions similar to these have been accompanied by a deeply rooted cause, which is fear.   I concluded a long time ago and will re-conclude today that, “What (insert name here) thinks,” really is not that important when it comes to my own happiness or future.

Allow me to clear things up a bit here…

In some cases the opinions of others may be important and it doesn’t hurt to ask for friendly advice from time to time but it cannot be one’s main device for making decisions.   Learning how to turn to self first for the answers and validation is very important.  No one knows how we feel inside or what’s truly best for us.  Not our families, friends, colleagues, e.g.  We all have to do what is fulfilling for us, not what someone else thinks will work for us.

Lastly, people are human beings and emotional creatures to say the least.  One minute saying how much they love something and in the next breath speaking ill of it.  If we choose to base our decisions on “What (insert name here) thinks” then we should really do so with caution.  I prefer the latter and will continue to work through this.
